Another month went by. And it felt like it just slipped through my fingers.
My older kid was sick again, so she had to stay home two out of the four weeks this month. Add to this Easter, and some national holidays, and I barely had a few days to dedicate to my blog.
In the meantime, however, I kept following some blogging and mom groups and I got so inspired I cannot stop thinking about it every spare minute.
So enough blabbing, here is my May blogging report.
May Blogging Report
Planning focus
Since I didn’t have time to sit down and write, I used the 10-15 minute gaps throughout the day to plan for the near future. I was thinking about planning and drafting by the end of June. Instead:
- I managed to reach 2 posts ready and scheduled to reduce the pressure.
- I’ve drafted the posts until the end of June.
- Planned the posts until the end of July.
- And I brainstormed some ideas leading to 100+ posts waiting for me to put them together.
This is two years of ideas without including anything that inevitably comes in the meantime. Cool, right?
I also ran a couple of website audits and started optimizing my blog in terms of speed and user experience. This will take a bit more time, however, because I am not the most tech-savvy person.
As for social media, I started scheduling 1 new pin every day and I have to say I am pretty satisfied with the results. Without any promotion, Pinterest has upped my impressions by over 500% and a few visitors are already coming to my blog.
Posts
So as I said, this month was very limited in terms of writing time. Thus, I managed to publish only 2 posts (not including the April report).
The second one is actually part of a series I’m planning on baby development, starting with the newborn stage and continuing to the 2nd year mark.
Stats
I know it’s too early to start talking about results, but given that I’m hardly doing any promotion on social media, I have to say I’m pretty satisfied so far.
Here are my blogging stats for May:
- Sessions: 74 (+64%)
- Site visitors: 55 (+90%)
- Organic traffic: 8 (n/a)
- Average position on Google: 39.8 (n/a)
- Facebook page: 10 likes (0%) and 22 follower (0%)
- Pinterest page: 3.6K impressions (+552%) and 34 followers (+62%)
Not a single drop in stats! Hurray, SEO!
Goals

May
- Schedule posts till the end of June. Not scheduled yet, but I’ve drafted them and as I mentioned I’m full of ideas for future content. If only I had more time to write…
- Update the top 3 posts in Google. Not done, I started optimizing random elements of different blog posts while I was going through them, but it doesn’t really count.
- Start affiliate marketing. Done that. Yay! I got accepted to the affiliate program of a tutorial platform I’ve used and love and I’ve updated my first affiliate post.
June
- Keep 2 posts scheduled at all times.
- Optimize the website further in terms of speed and UX.
- No drops in blogging stats.
- Continue posting 1 new pin every day.
- Update the top 3 posts in Google (not giving up on this one).
